In her program World Music on Classical Guitar, Julia Schüler invites her audience on a musical journey across cultures. Her repertoire features arrangements for classical guitar from various countries – including the yearning tones of Turkish musical traditions and the vibrant melodies of Brazilian music. The deep emotional power rooted in both cultures resonates through every piece. With her expressive and refined guitar playing, Julia manages to move and captivate listeners alike. She also performs works by Italian guitarist and composer Carlo Domeniconi, her mentor, whose compositions are influenced by Turkish, Arabic, and Indian music. Inspired by his innovative approach, Julia explores various tunings and sonic textures in her own arrangements, drawing out the full expressive range of the classical guitar.
